Celtic Cultural Tours
Laidlaw Enterprises Celtic Cultural Tour August 2009
Following on from the 2005 Celtic Cultural Tour I am now planning a tour for August 2009.
Depending on the eventual size of the tour group and feedback and availability of the tour guides together with any activities of "The Great Reaper" amongst the more senior of my group the general scheme is as follows:-
To attend one day, probably the International Day, at the Meirion and District National Eisteddfod 2009, which runs from 1st - 8th August 2009 at Bala.

To enjoy, with a group of several dozen like minded individuals some leisurely, but informative, visits to sites of Celtic Historical significance. Depending on feedback from the first 20 or so participants these may include none, some, or all of the following:-
- The Isle of Coll
- Iona
- Islay
- Inverness
- Loch Lomond
- The Trossachs
- Ibrox Stadium
- Stirling Castle
- The National Library of Wales in Aberystwth
- Snowdon (via the train!)
- The Dylan Thomas Centre
- The Millennium Stadium
- Celtica in Machynlleth (if it stays open long enough!)
- The Gower
- The Teifi Valley
- The Centre for Alternative Technology
- The Eden Centre
- St Ives in Cornwall
The whole tour will be more than one week and less than two weeks in duration. There may be a core of one week with several two or three day extensions available so that people can tailor their tour to their own requirements.
There would be Celtic music events available for several evenings. The tour will be conducted in English, but the sensitivities of Gaelic, Welsh and Cornish speakers will be taken into account and used to enrich the cultural experience, as appropriate.
The concept would be to use a luxury coach, expert guides with microphones and a printed tour guide(s) together with accommodation in three, four or five star hotels, if they are available.
The event will be designed to be Carbon Neutral.
