Ian Laidlaw has 35 years of experience in the use of dye tracing techniques. He worked for 26 years at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth before setting up Laidlaw Enterprises.
He specialises in the use of fluorescent tracer dyes to determine water flow routes and sources of leaks. His first publication on this topic was in Water Resources Research in February 1977. His consultancy clients in the last two years have included the British Waterways Trust and Carillion PLC.
